COMPLIANCE OFFICER I
SUMMARY:
Monitor casino activities, observes customers, employees, transactions and reporting
requirements to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Tribal gaming laws
and regulations. Investigates and reports deficiencies or violations and conducts
follow-up to ensure implementation of appropriate corrective action. This position
requires training by the Chief Compliance Officer and upper level Compliance
Officers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Learn to monitor shipping, receiving, installation, relocation, removal, storage, etc. of gaming devices for security and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Ensure accurate records are maintained on same.
- Learns to utilize Kobetron and Dataman equipment for the purpose of testing gaming device computer control chips for verification of validity and authorized programming.
- Learn to maintain control over access to sensitive areas of gaming devices
- Assists with monitoring table games and drops for compliance.
- Assist with monitoring count room activities for compliance.
- Works closely with the Chief Compliance Officer, upper level Compliance Officers, Auditors, Surveillance personnel, and Background Investigators as well as appropriate casino personnel in fulfilling responsibilities.
- Assists with ensuring that the casino fulfills all of its reporting requirements including but not limited to: Title 31, IRS, NIGC, State and Commission reports and assessments.
- Learns to monitor log sheets for keys, liquor sweeps, and machine movements.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer and/or Executive Director.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Although this entry level position which will have training and supervision to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The Employee must have competent computer skills, knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, and Access preferred. The Employee Knowledge of public relations/customer service practices and procedures. EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma; prefer 1 year regulatory, auditing or investigative related experience and/or training. Equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as multiplication, addition, subtraction, fractions. Knowledge of percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations desirable.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have superior interpersonal skills.
